The Crystal Maze is coming back to our screens – and this time you and your friends could be taking part.
Channel 4 have commissioned a brand new series of the hit ‘90’s show following the huge success of its one-off charity special broadcast last October.
The producers are now looking for Crystal Maze contestants to participate in the adrenaline-packed challenges.
“We’re on the lookout for teams of five contestants who have what it takes to navigate the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Future zones of the maze,” said Crystal Maze producers.
The 20-episode series of the revamped The Crystal Maze will be hosted by Richard Ayoade, star of The IT Crowd and Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.
Ayoade will guide contestants through a variety of physical and mental tasks in order to win crystals and earn time in the final trial – the legendary Crystal Dome.
The new series will be filmed in a purpose built maze that is being created by the original Crystal Maze designer, James Dillon, and will span over 30,000 square feet.
Hosted by Richard O’Brien, the first series of The Crystal Maze aired between 1990 and 1995. It was one of Channel 4’s most-watched programmes, regularly attracting audiences of over 4 million viewers.
