You ain’t never had a tea like this! Aladdin fans are in for a host of delights with this fabulous themed afternoon tea.

Inspired by the Walt Disney animated movie, the tea experience was created by the sisters at Cutter & Squidge, a popular tea room in the heart of London.

The duo are always developing new taste sensations to enchant their guests – including their signature ‘Biskie’, a handmade sandwiched dessert that’s a cross between a biscuit, a cookie and a cake.

With so much creativity bubbling between them, it’s no wonder Cutter & Squidge came up with the Aladdin themed afternoon tea. However, the experience will only be on offer for a limited time, so eager foodies will have to book their place soon.

What’s on the menu

Like all good afternoon teas, the “Genie’s Cave” menu includes a selection of delicate sweets and savouries.

Traditionalists will appreciate the trio of finger sandwiches, filled with cucumber and fresh mint, cheese and tomato jam, and coronation chicken.

Other ‘savoury wishes’ are a Dessert Rose Tart with roasted root vegetables, scones with roast peppers and feta cheese, and feather-light golden cheese clouds.

The selection of sweets is equally delicious, with raspberry and rose tarts sprinkled with pistachio emeralds, hidden gem macarons with peanut butter and jelly, and beautiful magic carpet cookies.

Then there’s the ruby dream cake, made with a medley of vanilla, strawberry, orange glaze and jelly ruby.

Perhaps the most eye-catching element on the menu is the ‘Genie’s Welcome’. This unusual delicacy is a blend of raspberry, pomegranate and pashmak (Iranian candy floss), topped with meringue and presented in a glass.

Finally, you can try out a unique Cutter & Squidge Biskie; this version is made with rich chocolate and a touch of sumptuous 24 carat gold.

If you have special dietary needs, a vegetarian or wheat free option is available. The venue will also try their best to accommodate other requirements on request.

The afternoon tea costs £29.50 per person or £34.50 with a glass of golden bubbly for diners who are looking for that extra pizazz.

Children under 10 years are priced at £14.50.

The limited edition Genie’s Cave Afternoon Tea will be served until January 31, 2018.
